Queensland topographic data schema
What is happening?
- The Queensland Government is releasing an updated Queensland Topographic data schema for the Topographic digital spatial datasets
- This includes changes to layer names, field names and attribute structure
When?
- 19th June 2024
Why?
- The current Topographic data schema hasn't been updated since the early 2000's
- Updating the schema with new and improved fields allows it to work better with current and possible future delivery techniques
- Aligns with UN data themes to allow a seamless integration with nationwide datasets
- The Topographic data aligns with Australia's current datum - GDA2020
Who?
- For all globe users, the change should be fairly seamless, with some changes in line styles and/or names, however saved maps may be impacted and need re-saving
- The Topographic base map will not be impacted
What's new?
- Extra fields and more "user-friendly" names for fields within the Topographic layers
- Update to the Watercourse dataset for better display performance and a regular update cycle instead of ad-hoc updates
- Ability to turn off stream ordering labels on Watercourses
- Queensland place names have been updated and will display real-time edits instead of ad-hoc updates
- As a reminder, the 1m and 5m LiDAR contours were released in mid-April and are available under Elevation theme
What do you need to do
- Open any saved maps and re-save them to pick up the new schema changes, please contact us if you need further assistance
